Our Team
Corporate Governance is a broad subject in its content and scope, in which legal, organizational, financing, auditing, conflict resolution elements, among others, are involved.
In that sense, Governance Consultants assigns to each project a multidisciplinary, specialized professional team. All our projects are supported by more than ten professionals, working full time in Corporate Governance subjects. In addition, in our projects participate local and international experts as “associated experts”.
ASSOCIATED EXPERTS
Luis Fernando Hernández
Regulation and utilities expert.
Luis Fernando worked in the Institutional Relations Division at Empresas Públicas de Medellín – EPM (corporate governance area). He was part of the internal working team when the consulting consortium IAAG and Governance Consultants advised EPM in the design of the corporate governance model of the group.
He is a lawyer with more than 10 years’ experience in the utilities sector and related areas, particularly in subjects focused on regulation for public services providers and corporate governance, legal frame for control, social management, energy and water related utilities. He is currently a PhD candidate at Universidad Externado and is a graduate and postgraduate teacher.
Alejandra Isbej
Alejandra is a Commercial Engineer, with a Master´s Degree in Business Law from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. She also holds a Master´s Degree in Strategic Communication (UIA) and a Corporate Governance Diploma from Universidad Católica de Chile. She has more than 30 years’ experience in the Chilean Capital Market as well as in the financial sector. She has worked for BICE and CITIBANK. Before becoming the head of Deva´s subsidiary in Chile, she was Communication Manager at Humphreys. Currently she works as an associated expert at Governance Consultants.
Hernán Darío Vergara
Internal and external auditing expert.
He is a former Auditing and Internal Control Vicepresident at Empresas Públicas de Medellín – EPM (parent company of more than 10 water companies within Colombia). He implemented the Internal Auditing Model based on direct relations with the boards of directors. He successfully implemented a model of supervision with active participation of corporate auditing teams and the teams from the subsidiaries. Hernán Dario experience and strong knowledge about the challenges that face state owned companies control systems, particularly utilities companies.
Jorge Andrés Mesa
Family businesses expert
Lawyer with knowledge and experience in corporate matters; planning tools; managing and
financial cultures; and the ability to integrate the aforementioned into family agreements that lead to
Governance or Family Protocols. Strategic planning oriented in family companies. Trained as a consultant by
the Inter – American Development Bank – BID in planning and conflict resolution.
